Bel Ami

Bel Ami is a charismatic chestnut stallion by the number one dressage sire Breitling W.  Born in 2006, he started his training with the highly successful Julia-Katharina von Platen-Elmerhaus, a constant member of the German dressage team.  Bel Ami is currently in training with Wolfram and Brigitte Wittig, both international dressage riders, and is progressing well.  He has a charming temperament, always willing to give his best and extremely loving and gentle, as you can see from the picture of him playing with our baby daughter.  He has three powerful paces with a wonderfully uphill canter and expressive trot.

Bel Ami’s father Breitling is currently number one in the German breeding index and is known for producing quality yet trainable offspring who include several licensed sons such as Berkeley, Benvenuto, Bertoli, Brioni and our own Baron de Ley as well as hugely successful competition horses such as Balderassini, Biagotti and Blind Date.  For further information please see Breitling’s page in our Sires section

Bel Ami's mother Weserfee is an outstanding mare, not only was she extremely successful at mare shows, but in addition to producing the premium licensed stallion Benvenuto, she has also produced several Verden auction horses, many going on to Grand Prix, as well as the stallion Donnerman who was sold after achieving outstanding grades at his 100 day test.  She is by the legendary stallion Weltmeyer who won his stallion licencing, his stallion performance test, the Federal Championships and was awarded the title 'Hanoverian Stallion of the Year', although many may argue it should be 'of the Century'.  Weltmeter has sired more than 100 approved sones, 250 State Premium mares, 11 Bundeschampions, and many successful Grand Prix horses including Olympic Gold medalist Weltall and World Cup winner Warum Nicht. One of the most exciting things Weltmeyerdoes is stamp his offspring with a wonderful hock action.

Bel Ami’s full brother Benvenuto was awarded the coveted Premium title at his licensing despite being one of the only stallions not put forwards for auction.   He also scored the maximum score of 10 for temperament and character in his performance test.  You can find more information on Benvenuto on his page in our Sires section.
