Berringar is a charismatic 2009 Breitling x Mon Cherie dark bay colt. With his four white socks and natural tendency to show off, this boy is something of a head turner! Having an International Grand Prix horse and successful sire for his father and an exceptionally strong dam line on his mother's side, Berringar is sure to go far.
Berringar’s father Breitling has consistently been in the top 3 of the German breeding index for the last few years and is known for producing quality yet trainable offspring who include several licensed sons such as Berkeley, Benvenuto, Bertoli, Brioni and our own Baron de Ley as well as hugely successful competition horses such as Balderassini, Biagotti and Blind Date. For further information please see Breitling’s page in our Sires section.
Berringar's mother comes from a phenomenally successful pedigree. Her father Mon Cherie has sired licensed stallions, Satet Premium mares and many successful competition horses. His sire was the refining anglo-arab Matcho and his dam sire is Grande the showjumping sire who produced 33 approved sons, 34 State Premium mares and hugely successful sports horses including three Olympic horses. His grandchildren have also been present at Olympic games and world championships in both dressage and showjumping. Berringar's grandmother State Premium Retina is a full sister to the wonderful Olympic dressage horse Rembrandt who was ridden by Nicole Uphoff. Her mother Adone is the dam of two licensed stallions, Royal Angelo I and II as well as Rembrandt and the other well known dressage horses Ramon 64 and Rosario 14. In addition to that Adone was also a full sister to two international dressage horses, Ahlerich and Amon. Adone's full sisters Anette and Antine were also stallion producers, Anette was the grandmother to Romancier and Antine was the mother of the legendary stallion Rubenstein, who was a double world champion, fourfold European champion and sired over 60 licensed sons. Former federal trainer of the German dressage elite, Johann Kinnemann, said of him, ". . when we consider a stallion of the century, we refer to Rubinstein." We also have Rosenkavalier on the dam side, performance test winner and a horse considered by many to be one of the most significant Westphalian sires today. When people talk about strong dam lines, rarely does one as proven as this come along.
