Beluga

Once again we have worked with our German partners to secure this spectacular colt foal by Bertoli W, a full brother to our own stallion Baron de Ley, out of an exquisite mare by De Niro.  Beluga is a charismatic foal who moves with power and expression, he has an exemplary pedigree with a seriously impressive dam line that includes stallions of the year as well as Olympic champions.  With his film star looks and movement to die for this foal is something special.

Beluga's father Bertoli W is a striking bay stallion, his powerful gaits and charismatic presence have ensured that he is at the top of the scoreboard during his competitve career.  Highlights of this include: reserve champion at the Westphalian championships, twice finalist for the Bundeschampionships, finalist in the World Breeding Championships and highly placed in the prestigious Burgpokal qualifiers.  Still only eight, he is already enjoying success at Grand Prix, with scores over 70% in his first season at this level, this is a seriously impressive horse for the future.  Breitling, Bertoli’s father Breitling has been in thetop three of the German breeding index for the past 4 years and is known for producing quality yet trainable offspring who include several licensed sons such as BerkeleyBenvenuto, and our own stallion Baron de Ley.  He has also fathered many hugely successful competition horses such as Balderassini, Biagotti, Brioni and Blind Date.  For further information please see Breitling’s page in our Sires section.  Bertoli’s mother is one of the most spectacularly successful of the Wittig’s mares, Devisa is by the Thoroughbred Diego out of a grand-daughter of the great Westfalian jumping sire, Polydor.  The Wittigs are rightly proud of the foals Devisa has produced for them, to date this has included three Grand Prix horses, three licensed stallions and several Bundeschampionship and World Breeding Championship finalists.

Beluga's mother Dadone is by the 2008 Hanoverian Stallion of the Year De Niro referred to as "the embodiment of the Hanoverian stallion, De Niro is the heir apparent to Donnerhall, and his grand dam sire Akzent II.  De Niro is an exceptional stallion of superlative type and performance. He is a wonderful combination of the best Trakehner bloodlines, with a dash of Thoroughbred, ensuring his success as a sire of noble riding horses including over 60 licensed sons.  Dadone has equally famous grandparents, her grandfather Gratianus stems from the well known lineage of Oesterdihoff.  He also draws from the blood of jumping royalty such as Grannus, Pilot, and Weinberg, his grand dam, is a unique mare, competing in tests of 1,40 m and has produced international horses such as Pour la Merit, Piroschka, Co-Pilot I, Pro-Pilot II (Pusshkin) and Phantom. He was the champion of his stallion performance test, with scores of 8,5 and 9 for aptitudes of the jump.  It is Dadorne's garndmother Adone who is a true highlight of this pedigree however.  Adone was a full sister to two international dressage horses,  Ahlerich and Amon.  Adone is the dam of two licensed stallions, Royal Angelo I and II as well as Rembrandt and the other well known dressage horses Ramon 64 and Rosario 14.  In addition to that Adone was also a full sister to two international dressage horses,  Ahlerich and Amon.  Adone's full sisters Anette and Antine were also stallion producers, Anette was the grandmother to Romancier and Antine was the mother of the legendary stallion Rubenstein, who was a double world champion, fourfold European champion and sired over 60 licensed sons. Former federal trainer of the German dressage elite, Johann Kinnemann, said of him, ". . when we consider a stallion of the century, we refer to Rubinstein."
