2009 chestnut gelding by Breitling out of a Donnerhall x Weltmeyer mare.  Billabong's pedigree almost reads like a who's who of dressage!  He combines the modern day star Breitling W with two of the most successful dressage sires in history, Donnerhall and Weltmeyer.  He is an eycatching young horse with super paces and one to watch for the future we are sure.

Billabong is by Breitling who is currently number one in the German breeding index and is known for producing quality yet trainable offspring who include several licensed sons such as Berkeley, Benvenuto, Bertoli, Brioni and our own Baron de Ley as well as hugely successful competition horses such as Balderassini, Biagotti and Blind Date. For further information please see Breitling’s page in our Sires section.

Billabong’s mother is by the legendary stallion Donnerhall who is almost peerless in the world of dressage sires having enjoyed success like no other.  He had a stellar career as a dressage horse, winning some of the most prestigious competitions, including over 65 FEI Grand Prix Dressage classes, World and he was also named Oldenburg Stallion of the Year in 1998.  Donnerhall was a hugely influential sire with some of his most notable offspring including Don Primero Champion 5-year at the 1990 Bundeschampionate and now a Grand Prix horse, Don Schufro who was part of the bronze medal winning Danish team at the 2008 Beijing Olympics, De Niro the 2008 Hanoverian Stallion of the Year and Davignon who gained record scores at the Bundeschampionate before going on to become a Grand Prix horse.  In addition to this Donnerhall has fathered a whopping 77 licensed stallions.

Billabong’s Grandmother Weserfee is an outstanding mare, not only was she extremely successful at mare shows, but in addition to producing the premium licensed stallion Benvenuto, she has also produced several Verden auction horses, many going on to Grand Prix, as well as the stallion Donnerman who was sold after achieving outstanding grades at his 100 day test.   Weserfee is by the monumental stallion Weltmeyer who won his stallion licensing, his stallion performance test, the Federal Championships and was awarded the title 'Hanoverian Stallion of the Year', although many may argue it should be 'of the Century'. Weltmeter has sired more than 100 approved sons, 250 State Premium mares, 11 Bundeschampions, and many successful Grand Prix horses. Wiesenburg comes from a very strong dam line, her mother Sprite is full sister to the dam of Wizenzo who won his 70-day test, he scored four 10s and five nines, receiving nines for his paces and 10s for temperament and rideability.
