Briesenburg is a spectacular chestnut colt by Breitling who was already demonstrating his athleticism and power at just a few days old. He is a full brother to the beautiful Blossom. We think this will be an exciting one to watch!
Briesenburg’s father Breitling has been in the top 3 of the German breeding index for the last 4 years and is known for producing quality yet trainable offspring who include several licensed sons such as Berkeley, Benvenuto, Bertoli, Brioni and our own Baron de Ley as well as hugely successful competition horses such as Balderassini, Biagotti and Blind Date. Breitling is a competition stallion who has nothing left to prove, having won international Grand Prix classes and Nations Cups, taken first prize in 22 advanced level dressage classes, secured a bronze medal at the German Championship and accumulated over EUR 130,000 in prize money in the dressage arena. His achievements with longstanding rider, Wolfram Wittig, extend right up to the World Cup Tour. His ability to produce excellent offspring can only be described as phenomenal. Although he has only been used to a limited extent for breeding purposes, meaning that he has relatively few offspring, there are 13 advanced level dressage horses among his first progeny which have collectively won over EUR 72,000 in prize money. Blind Date was the World Championship of Young Dressage Horses favourite in 2007, but she unfortunately suffered an injury shortly before she was due to enter the ring. In 2009, she was back on form when she won the Small Tour at the CHIO Aachen and the Nuremberg Burgpokal final. Biagotti W was a bronze medallist at the World Championship in Verden in 2006 and also qualified for the Burgpokal in 2009. Baldessarini W has won seven advanced dressage classes and competed successfully in international Grand Prix classes, Berkeley W is a successful Grand Prix horse, Meggles Black Jack has won at Grand Prix level, approved stallion Bertoli W was highly placed in St. Georges classes as a seven year-old and Brioni W won an Intermediaire I class as an eight year-old. Barilla W, Bichachu, Balalaika W are also all successful advanced level competition horses. Numerous Breitling progeny have qualified for Bundeschampionat and World Championship finals Bismarck, an advanced level dressage horse, has a pedigree that goes back to top dressage horse producer, Bolero, whose bloodline recently experienced a renaissance when Belissimo M won the Bundeschampionat. Breitling's dam's full sister produced the successful Grand Prix horse Burlington/Alexandra Simons-de Ridder by Bismarck. Breitling's full sister, Biagotti W, has also competed successfully up to Grand Prix level. Breitling's pedigree includes successful and proven Hanoverian performance genes.
Briesenburg’s mother Wiesenburg is by the monumental stallion Weltmeyer who won his stallion licensing, his stallion performance test, the Federal Championships and was awarded the title 'Hanoverian Stallion of the Year', although many may argue it should be 'of the Century'. Weltmeter has sired more than 100 approved sons, 250 State Premium mares, 11 Bundeschampions, and many successful Grand Prix horses. Wiesenburg comes from a very strong dam line, her mother Sprite is full sister to the dam of Wizenzo who won his 70-day test, he scored four 10s and five nines, receiving nines for his paces and 10s for temperament and rideability. Sprite’s father Sherlock Holmes comes from some of the finest Hanoverian blood, he was the reserve champion of his performance test and has produced several licensed sons. Sprite’s maternal Grand sire is Consul, a Trakehner stallion almost perfect in his harmonious body, his top line, the correctness of his foundation and the masculine expression of his face. Consul's damline is among the best of the breed, which is responsible for producing an endless list of highly successful sport horses.
Briesenburg is a full brother to Blossom.
