Brindabella is a beautiful bay mare, with her exemplary bloodlines we knew that she would be a real asset to our breeding program. She is by Breitling out of a Blue Hors Cavan x Sandro Hit mare so there is little doubting the quality of her lines. Her first foal was an outstanding filly Ichiban by Imperio so we have decided to retain her as a broodmare, she is currently in foal to late stallion Boston (Jazz x Flemmingh x Purioso) who was champion of his grading and who trained with Isabell Werth, her 2011 foal was a colt also by Boston called Borealis, he is so special that we decided to repeat the pairing for next year.
Brindabella’s father Breitling has been in the top 3 of the German breeding index for the last 4 years and is known for producing quality yet trainable offspring who include several licensed sons as well as hugely successful competition horses. Breitling is a competition stallion who has nothing left to prove, having won international Grand Prix classes and Nations Cups, taken first prize in 22 advanced level dressage classes, secured a bronze medal at the German Championship and accumulated over EUR 130,000 in prize money in the dressage arena. His achievements with longstanding rider, Wolfram Wittig, extend right up to the World Cup Tour. His ability to produce excellent offspring can only be described as phenomenal. Although he has only been used to a limited extent for breeding purposes, meaning that he has relatively few offspring, there are 13 advanced level dressage horses among his first progeny. Blind Date was the World Championship of Young Dressage Horses favourite in 2007, but she unfortunately suffered an injury shortly before she was due to enter the ring. In 2009, she was back on form when she won the Small Tour at the CHIO Aachen and the Nuremberg Burgpokal final and is now competing successfully at Grand Prix. Biagotti W, Baldessarini W, Berkeley W, Meggles Black Jack and Bertoli W have all been successful at Grand Prix. Numerous Breitling progeny have qualified for Bundeschampionat and World Championship finals. Bismarck, an advanced level dressage horse, has a pedigree that goes back to top dressage horse producer, Bolero, whose bloodline recently experienced a renaissance when Belissimo M won the Bundeschampionat. Breitling's dam's full sister produced the successful Grand Prix horse Burlington by Bismarck. Breitling's full sister, Biagotti W, has also competed successfully up to Grand Prix level. For further information please see Breitling’s page in our Sires section.
Brindabella’s dam sire Blue Hors Cavan made his fame as an international Grand prix horse under Lars Petersen and Andreas Helgstrand. He claimed 49 victories at the Grand Prix level and became four time Danish Dressage Champion. He won 8 World Cup Qualifiers and placed second in the 2002 World Cup Finals. Sadly he was castrated following a testicular hernia in 2000. Brindabella’s Grandmother Summer Breeze is by Paul Schockemohle’s flagship stallion Sandro Hit. He has an outstanding breeding record and founded a new dressage horse dynasty, his foals have consistently attracted very high bids at practically all auctions, though the all-time record auction price of EUR 2.5 million is still held by two-time Bundeschampion, Poetin. For more information on Sandro Hit please see his page in our Sires section.
