Don Ricoss is a modern young dressage stallion, equipped with three first-class paces and outstanding character, trainability & attitude to work. He has had a superb competition career so far, including winning Vice Champion Hanoverian stallion at the World Championships, Champion at Elmlohe & 30 day Test Champion with a score of 8.84. His foals have shown to have inherited his elegance and three very good paces and have been very successful at foal shows in the UK, France and Germany taking Champion and Vice Champion titles as well as several top placings. He was the 30 Day Test Champion at Neustadt-Dosse with a score of 8.84. Don Ricoss was the only three year old tested in 2005 (309 stallions) to get marks greater than 9.0 for both trot and canter. Don Ricoss was the champion three year old at Elmlohe where he scored 8.8, the highest mark of all three and four year olds. He was Vice Championthree year old Hanoverian Stallion at World Young Horse Championships Verden, Vice Championfour year old CDN Verden, nominated for the World Championships – five year old and three times Bundeschampionship Qualifier. His first class talents have given him wins and high placings up to Advanced Medium, with scores up to 8.8 including at the International Competition in Elmlohe. In 2010 he will start competing at PSG.
Don Ricoss is ranked second in the 2009 BEF Dressage Sire Rankings with 100% Elite or First Premium progeny for the second year running. In 2009, yearling colt Don Rolieto gained a BEF Elite Premiumand was the joint highest scoring dressage horse of the day of all age groups at Plumpton. In 2008 Don Ricoss had 100% BEF First Premiumfoals with two qualifying for the BEF Elite Championship - SFS Dante Inferno was Champion Dressage Foaland Overall Dressage Reserve Champion and Don Rolieto placed third - Dressage foal. At the 2008 BHHS Championship show his foals won Champion Filly Foal(Diorissima) & Champion Yearling Filly(Donna Walina) as well as all the others being placed.
His sire Don Frederico was Champion of the Hanoverian licensing in 1999. In his performance test he was Overall Vice Champion with a score of 141.04 & Champion of the Dressage, with an outstanding score of 151.67. He is currently the sire of 20 licensed sons and 111 State Premium mares and in 2008 had a breeding index of 160 with 98% reliability. His dam Windröschen is by the legendary stallionWeltmeyer, who is a multiple champion:- stallion licensing; performance test; Bundeschampionship as well as the prestigious DLG show. He has sired more than 100 approved stallions, 250 State Premium mares, 11 Bundeschampions, performance test winners and an outstanding 148 successful advanced level dressage horses, including Olympic gold medal winner Weltall and World Cup winner Warum Nicht, along with Weserperle S, Wie Weltmeyer & Vincent. His grand dam State Premium Erinawho is by Eiger I produced three foals by Warkant: Wallstreet Kida licensed stallion now in the USA, Windsor Queendam of licensed stallions Will Be(Wittinger), and Licensing and Bundeschampion Londonderry (Lauries Crusador xx) - who is considered to be a foundation sire, and Warnettedam of four Verden Elite top priced auction foals who sold for up to 65,000 Euros & one Premium licensed stallion - London Dance - all by Lauries Crusador xx. His grand sireEiger I,Hanoverian Stallion of 1999, was known to pass on his type, correct conformation and very good rideability to his offspring. Very often they are talented for both jumping and dressage.
