Dreamgirl

Dreamgirl is a refined liver chestnut 8 year old mare, her graceful presence and attractive paces make her a pleasure to behold.  Her outstanding pedigree initially attracted us to purchase her as a prospective broodmare.  However, within weeks of being started under saddle her rider and trainer were singing her praises and a decision was made to keep her as a competition horse.  Dreamgirl has a purposeful walk, a flamboyant canter and a super loose trot.  She has a natural ability for piaffe and passage and her changes are established and easy.  She has recently arrived in the UK and will now be trained by International Grand Prix rider Anna Ross Davies.

Dreamgirl is by Dimaggio, the 2000 World Champion of five year old dressage horses, and one of the most successful stallions standing today in the UK. He is a noble, modern Hanoverian with three outstanding basic paces.  He has a phenomenal trot with very strong and balanced engagement, his canter is ground covering and uphill and his walk shows well lengthening strides.  Dimaggio is descended from 9 Grand Prix stallions including his sire, Don Primero, who was the 1990 Bundeschampion of German dressage horses and highly successful in international Grand Prix. The dam's sire, World Cup I, won his performance test, was the DLG Reserve Champion Stallion twice, received the "Hanoverian Stallion of the Year" award and sired numerous successful dressage horses.  Dimaggio is known for producing talented, modern types who include licensed sons, sale toppers and competition winners.

Dreamgirl comes from a long line of successful Grand Prix horses, her mother Rollata is by Regazzoni, himself by the great dressage stallion by Rubenstein out of the notable Werther mare Wakonda. In 1994 Regazzoni was the 100 day Performance Test Champion scoring 10’s for rideability and disposition and 9 for his trot.  Regazzoni is the sire of 13 licensed stallions and competed to FEI level himself, also becoming the 1995 Federal Vice-Champion German Riding Horse in Warendorf and winning the finals of the German 5 Year Old Dressage Championships in 1996.  Dreamgirl’s grandmother Waikira is by the Grand Prix stallion Waitomo, son of Wienerwald who was known for his superb gaits and jumping ability.  Wienerwald sired over 300 international dressage horses and jumpers.
