Ice Age

Ice Age is a talented grey Oldenburg gelding.  Born in 1999, he was successfully competed  up to to Intermediare I and was selected to represent GB before returning home to be used as a schoolmaster.  His superb attitude to work ensures that he gives his best at all times whilst also being safe enough for even the least experienced of riders.  Ice Age recently qualified for the regional championships at two levels on his first attempt, he has delivered consistent scores and positive comments from the judges on his outings to date.  Ice Age is in training with Grand Prix rider Anna Ross Davies.

Ice Age is sired by the great Inselfürst, winner of the 1992 European Dressage Championship for 6 year olds and the second highest scoring dressage stallion ever with a score of 152.96. Inselfuerst's pedigree contains Futuro, one of the most famous sons of the great Furioso, who himself produced 30 International and Olympic horses and Inschallah, undeniably one of the greatest foundation sires whose influence stretched across Oldenburg, Hannover, Trakehner, Westphalen, Rhineland, Hessen, and Dutch breeding. Inschallah produced 34 approved sons and 83 Premium mares along with several Olympic Medal winners. The Inschallah blood produces enormous gaits, solid conformation along with superb temperament.

 

Ice Age’s mother is Grand Ballet, a full sister to the hugely successful stallion Glorieaux who was a bundeschampion and winner of his licensing.  Further along the damline we find Goldstern, one of the leading sires of competition horses today with no less than 35 advanced show jumpers to his name. Goldstern's sire, Gotthard was the most popular sire of show jumpers in the seventies. Goldstern's dam sire Waidmannsdank is a guarantee for rideability and today he exerts an enormous influence via his daughters who produced Akzent II and Gardeulan I & II.
