Imperio, although still young himself, has already had a glittering career both as a sport horse and a sire of dressage horses. His achievements include: Reserve champion of the Trakehner stallion licensing, Vice - champion in 2008, Federal Champion 2008 and Bronze Medalist 2009 World Championship. Rarely has a young dressage horse in Germany caused such a stir with both the reaction of the audience and the subsequent media coverage.
Imperio has through his father Connery and grandfather Buddenbrock consolidated performance with proven blood lines on the father's side in combination with the coveted thoroughbred influence on the maternal side. Imperio’s dam sire Balfour is the son of Neckar, the most successful thoroughbreed brought into the warmblood studbook in Germany. Balfour 's mother, Bristol is also the mother of the Busoni xx, who was brought into the Hanoverian studbook and has bred top horses in all disciplines. Imperio 's grandmother Istia, descended from the son Pregel Primo, is also grandmother of the premium stallion Intercontinental (v. Consul). Further back in the generations are Maharaja and Humboldt also proven producers of performance.
Imperio's first crops are leggy, typey foals with outstanding movement. They are particularly good through the shoulder and show good activity in the hindquarters. Imperio has already had two licensed sons, one being reserve champion of his licensing and the other being awarded a premium.
