Uthopia x Berita (FOAL)

 

Uthopia is outstanding in his type and demonstrates magnificent paces combined with a fantastic temperament. His sire “Metall”, the son of Olympic Ferro achieved the highest grading marks for his birth year and is well known for producing quality & refined offspring. Uthopia has inherited his immaculate conformation, intelligence and best of all, his trainability. His uphill build, powerful hind, supple back and beautiful elevation result in his huge movement that seems to have got everyone talking.  Relatively new to Grand prix, his last 8 outings have been plus 80% with an average 82.5% at the European Championships where he blasted onto the scene beating Totillas an amazing 3 times, gaining the highest overall score in the team competition and coming home with a gold and two silver medals. It is rare to see this combination of pure power with relaxation and lightness and it is so refreshing to see his rider Carl Hester drop the reins at the final halt and watch Uti stretch down and calmly leave the arena. It is a tribute to both Carl and the horse to watch them enjoy the prize giving's and laps of honour so often avoided by more tense or nervous horses.  Carl says:

Berita is a wonderful Hanoverian mare in full training with international Grand Prix rider Anna Ross Davies.  She has a fantastic competition record to date and with regular 9's from the judges.  She is much admired wherever she goes not only for her flowing paces but her outstanding temperament and trainability.  Berita’s father Breitling is currently number one in the German breeding index and is known for producing quality yet trainable offspring who include several licensed sons such as Berkeley, Benvenuto, Bertoli, Brioni and our own Baron de Ley as well as hugely successful competition horses such as Balderassini, Biagotti and Blind Date. For further information please see Breitling’s page in our Sires section.  Berita’s mother is Rollata who is by Regazzoni, himself by the great dressage stallion Rubenstein out of the notable Werther mare Wakonda. In 1994 Regazzoni was the 100 day Performance Test Champion scoring 10’s for rideability and disposition and 9 for his trot. Regazzoni is the sire of 13 licensed stallions and competed to FEI level himself, also becoming the 1995 Federal Vice-Champion German Riding Horse in Warendorf and winning the finals of the German 5 Year Old Dressage Championships in 1996.  As you continue back in Berita's pedigree you will find Grand Prix horse after Grand Prix horse.
