Berita

2005 Hanoverian mare Berita is a beautiful chestnut mare and is a favourite on the yard because of her sweet nature. She comes from a long line of Grand Prix horses on both sides of her impressive pedigree.  She is tall and elegant and has attracted positive comments and high scores on her first few outings. Berita is definitely one to watch for the future, she was entered into the Shearwater Young Dressage Horse 5 year old class which she won convincingly despite being up against some stiff competition and being a year behind in her training having bred a stunning foal (Cloudy Bay).  She has loose, rhythmical paces and has inherited the trademark super canter from her sire Breitling. Berita has also inherited her father’s easy temperament and is always willing to work, she is extremely trainable and also enjoys hacking.  She is currently in training with international Grand Prix rider Anna Ross Davies and is expecting a foal by the exciting Grand Prix stallion Uthopia via embryo transfer in 2012.  Berita has already started an impressive competition record and won one of her latest classes on over 76%!

Berita’s father Breitling has been in the top 3 of the German breeding index for the last 4 years and is known for producing quality yet trainable offspring who include several licensed sons such as Berkeley, Benvenuto, Bertoli, Brioni and our own Baron de Ley as well as hugely successful competition horses such as Balderassini, Biagotti and Blind Date. Berita’s mother is Rollata who is by Regazzoni, himself by the great dressage stallion Rubenstein out of the notable Werther mare Wakonda. In 1994 Regazzoni was the 100 day Performance Test Champion scoring 10’s for rideability and disposition and 9 for his trot. Regazzoni is the sire of 13 licensed stallions and competed to FEI level himself, also becoming the 1995 Federal Vice-Champion German Riding Horse in Warendorf and winning the finals of the German 5 Year Old Dressage Championships in 1996.
