Caledonia

Caledonia is a very special foal for us as not only have we had Riviera since she herself was a foal but she is our first homebred foal born in the UK.  She is already extremely tall and is showing a confident and friendly personality.  She has three attractive paces with the canter proving to be a highlight so far.  We recently attended the British Equestrian Federation Futurity Evaluations where Caledonia scored a whopping 8.8 which gave her a higher first premium and the reserve champion! She scored 9's for the veterinary mark, as well as her canter which was described as very athletic and her attitude for dressage which the Evaluator said was "very good, showing presence and personality". 

 

Caledonia's father Connery was licensed in Neumuenster in 2000. He then completed the 30-day test in Adelheidsdorf and later qualified for the Bundeschampionat to complete his stallion approval. He also was approved for breeding with the Hanoverian Verband. His mother, Caro Lady is a half sister of Consul, who is a legendary supplier of sport and breeding horses. He has also demonstrated his prowess as a sire of top sports horses through his son Imperio who was Reserve champion of Trakehner Licensing 2005, Bundeschampion finalist 2007, Bundeschampion and Reserve Champion of the World Championships for young Dressage Horses in 2008, he was also Bronze medalist at the World Championships 2009.  For more information please see Connery's page in our sires section.

 

Caledonia's mother Riviera is an elegant chestnut mare with outstanding bloodlines. Her father Relevant, ranked as the world’s best dressage stallion by the BCM breeding rankings, won team silver at World Equestrian Games in Jerez and was on the bronze medal winning team at the Athens Olympics. Her mother Wanda is a daughter of the 2002 Hanoverian Stallion of the Year Warkant, grand-daughter of the 1999 Hanoverian Stallion of the Year Eiger I, and with an array of State Premium mares in her pedigree, her lineage is undoubted. Wanda is a full sister to Windsor Queen dam of the Celle State Stud Stallion, Londonderry. She is also a full sister to Wallstreet Kid, who was sold to the USA having topped the Verden sales as a yearling and becoming Champion of the 1991 Stallion Licensing.
