Riviera

Riviera is an elegant chestnut mare who takes after her father in looks and character.  With her super loose paces and tremendous depth of bloodlines we were confident that she would be an asset to our breeding program and this was confirmed by the arrival of her first foal Caledonia who was the reserve champion of her BEF Futurity evaluation scoring a whopping 8.8!  Riviera is in foal to Metall, father of the phenomenal Uthopia for 2013.

Riviera's father Relevant, ranked as the world’s best dressage stallion by the BCM breeding rankings, enjoyed a glittering international career. He is described on his stud card as “Strikingly beautiful, fabulous movement, outstanding rideability and willingness to perform” – this is Relevant. Relevant has a striking exterior along with fabulous movement with plenty of freedom at the shoulder. Relevant enjoyed huge success in the dressage arena, with his help, the US won the team silver the first time ever at the World Equestrian Games in Jerez, Spain. He continued to win huge CDI competition in Europe such as Stuttgart with a vengeance and qualified to represent the US at the Olympic Games in Athens, Greece where he was awarded a team bronze.

Riviera's mother Wanda is a very special mare, she is a daughter of the 2002 Hanoverian Stallion of the Year Warkant, grand-daughter of the 1999 Hanoverian Stallion of the Year Eiger I, and with an array of State Premium mares in her pedigree, her lineage is undoubted. Wanda is a full sister to Windsor Queen dam of the Celle State Stud Foundation Stallion, Londonderry. She is also a full sister to Wallstreet Kid, who was sold to the USA having topped the Verden sales as a yearling and becoming Champion of the 1991 Stallion Licensing. Wanda's father, the Celle State Stud Stallion, was the 2002 Hanoverian Stallion of the Year. He was the winner of his licensing and from 1993 to 1998 he was stationed at Celle where he was one of the stars of the stallion parades because of his excellent basic gaits and expressive trot. The use of Warkant on mares by the Hanoverian Stallion of the Year 1999, Eiger 1, has proved to be a winning combination and has produced horses such as the stallion Wilberforce who sold for DM 400,000, Wanessa who became Bundeschampion in 1991 and Windsor Queen, dam of the 2002 Bundeschampion, Londonderry, and who is a full sister to Wanda. Imported from Germany as a three year old, Wanda started her life in the UK as a dressage horse, before being put in foal. She completed her Mare Performance Test at the British Hanoverian Horse Society grading in 2002 and has produced some excellent offspring including her first son who 2007 qualified for the NUUMED Potential Young Dressage Horse Championships (5 year old) on a score of 85.4%
